Renoir - The Director

I posted this character on discord as well and some people liked it. After a friend of mine encouraged me, i decided to post it here as well.

Before i continue, i want to mention the fact that i am not dead set on the abilities/kit. I just had an idea and a vibe for it.
If anyone on the forum wants to contribute , go in details on his kit etc. , feel free to do so in the comments below.

RENOIR- THE DIRECTOR

Renoir is an eccentric movie director who attempted to use magic in order to create his Magnum Opus. This backfired and he got trapped in his own movie. When he managed to escape the prison of his own making, he came back obsessed with the idea of trapping people's souls in his camera roll. That way , he could watch all of these people live and create a story, one that he has no control over and is always interesting.

The Concept Art :

I have decided to go with black and a warm grey for him, reminiscient of old German movies. I thought it would be cool to have his eyes and lips done with black just like the actors in that era.

For the clothes, i went with something simple. I still feel like something else is missing but for now , a turtle neck and loose pants i feel would work really well.

For the gun, i looked at the main character's camera from ''Peeping Tom''. On one of the posters he is holding a camera almost like a gun.

KIT :

I see him as a caster mainly.

Primary Attack :

I thought his basic attack could sound like almost as if you're taking multiple pictures at once (like the photo burst feature on a phone) When you're recording someone you steal their life on the film. I thought it would be fitting for him to have auto aim just like Wanda from Marvel Rivals . With a range limit ofcourse.

1st Skill

''Still Shot''

Throws a camera film. The film roots the enemies for a few seconds.

2nd Skill

''Spotlight''

Marks an enemy with a light coming from above. The enemy becomes vulnerable to damage. They are also visible on the map.

3rd Skill

''Frame by Frame''

Renoir turns himself two dimensional and sticks to the wall. He gains movement speed. He is immune to primary attacks but not skillshots. However, him getting hit won't cancel the skill. He can die while this skill is active.

4th Skill - No name yet and subject to change if people have better ideas.

If he manages to shoot/record an enemy player for a certain amount of time, he is able to summon a black and white copy of that hero in battle (basically a bot) which can join the fight.


I look forward to any feedback or ideas people have !

second skill buff idea:

spotlights can be placed as long lasting traps on the map as well as unit targeted.

third skill rework idea:

cut!

jump to a target point and heal off the last 2 seconds of damage taken. any enemies around you are damaged along with bonus damage based on damage taken in the last 2 seconds.

ultimate:

whips out a cursed camera with a broken reel and starts filming. each second enemies stay inside, a snapshot of them spawns to shoot them for spirit damage that builds up to curse.

You could call the ultimate ability "Method acting"?

"cut!" sounds like ekko's ultimate, except you choose where you want to teleport to.
I like the idea of spotlight traps. Could like play an alarm and a chase/suspense style music for targets affected by spotlight.

Could end up being upgraded to cause lingering effects on them, especially in the light, like reduced stamina, or reduced damage.

I'll take all of these and try to compile them in a document so i can keep track.

This I absolutely love concept wise. It could literally be a spot light you could place around corners or on walls and such. I think that would be amazing.

I wonder if we could combine this with ''frame by frame''. I've never seen a character go two dimensional on walls in a competitive game ( ofcourse i haven't played all of them).

I'll need to draw an extra camera on his side or something to hint towards this but i'll work on it !
