I was trying to run away from an enemy, the dash had me going slower than if i hadn't dashed at all. It was like I was on a treadmill.
I ended up doing some testing and it seems if you dash then hit 2 right away the first 2 dashes (combined) go the length of a regular dash, but you have to wait a bit after pressing 2 to not take the penalty. Somehow the distance during the bug also seems to be linked to if your pressing directional keys such as W, i.e. if your not you basically do not move at all. Compare that with a regular dash where you will still move in such a case.
Just a very annoying bug because I have had this happen and kill me more times than I can count. It wasn't until I was playing my second ranked game I decided to figure out the cause and watch a replay.
