Queue automatically stops, no game found

When trying to start matchmaking the queue automatically cancels after a small while (around 10 seconds). There is no error popup and the the screen simply returns to the normal homepage. Before this issue occured, when attempting to queue, it gave the "you are not currently signed in to Steam or the deadlock network...." error popup. After trying some solutions such as reinstalling, restarting pc, relogging steam, the error popup stopped happening but now this weirder issue is occuring where the queue simply stops by itself without any indication of an error. The console output seems to indicate that this happens just from the server responses, since the queue starts normally but then after receiving a response from the server it gets stopped by the client. I have also attached the full console log when opening the game and starting matchmaking.

The issue seems to have resolved itself. I tried playing around with VPNs a bit since I saw that as a suggestion to fix it. The VPNs did let me connect but weren't working very well and trying to queue without VPN afterwards did not work. A bit later though the matchmaking (even without VPN) started working somewhat normally. However, it feels like there is a noticeable increase in ping when connected to a game now. I am getting 135-140 ping, on EU region. I cant say 100% certain that this is higher than before since I did not check earlier, but it is noticeable in the gameplay and when using abilities, along with the fact that I generally get good ping on EU servers in other games (under 40ms usually, 12ms when checking with speedtest). I am unsure if this issue is related to the earlier one but the game feels a lot less playable like this. Devs can we get some clarity on these issues and potential fixes?

Edit:
The situation gets weirder.... When using a VPN now the ping is significantly lower! Looking at the console output the issue is pretty clear. Without VPN the game seems use a wrong network location/region (this is not related to any usage of "region_override", I tried changing to various regions but this did not change anything in the console output). Using the VPN changes the "Network location" shown in the console.

Without VPN:

[Citadel Play Controller] Network location: dfw2=141+14,dfw=/141+14,atl=/159+14,ord=/161+14,lax=/172+14,iad=/174+14,sea=/192+14,hkg4=213+21,hkg=/213+21,lim=/240+14,sgp=/245+21,tyo=/265+21

With VPN:

[Citadel Play Controller] Network location: ams=13+1,lhr=17+1,fra=19+1,par=24+2/23+1,vie=46+4/29+1,waw=31+3,sto2=39+3/33+1,sto=44+4/33+1,mad=39+3,iad=100+10/100+1,sgp=169+16/170+16,gru=210+21

It looks like when the VPN is not active the game does not find the closest servers (EU), but when using the VPN via a local EU server it is able to find the correct game servers (im guessing ams=Amsterdam, fra=France, or similar) and I get perfectly fine ping. Hopefully this helps in fixing the issue. I can provide more full console logs if needed.

If you look at my thread I put a more detailed explanation to my fix that doesn't require a VPN

But in short I've been having this issue almost coming up on a week now, VPNs do change your geolocation but doesn't actually help you get into servers because of that, they just have their own firewall settings / bypass ISP restrictions which made me double check my routers admin page.

I went into my firewall settings on my router admin page and although I had the firewall disabled from trying a previous fix there was 1 setting still enabled by default that I didn't switch off, once I fully disabled my networks firewall I got into a game in less than a second with no issues at all.

Hopefully that helps some people who are less tech savvy than myself, if you need to know how to get to your admin page just google your ISP and what IP address you need to type in to access it (ex. mine is 192.168.1.1).

Also in regards to your ping, it seems the only available server 90% of the time is in Helsinki, which is located in Finland so there is a chance that if you are located quite far from Northern Europe that it may cause some issues

I would recommend to use a VPN as opposed to turning off routers firewall.
Cant find in the console a clear indication of which server it actually connects to but the ping seems to be low enough that its probably the Amsterdam server (when using VPN). Without VPN it seems like it connects to NA servers.

Is there a way to change the server you are trying to connect without VPN? Problem seems to be tied that client tries to connect some regional server that is offline/unavailable and gets timed out after trying for a while. I've tried changing my region with citadel_region_override command, but the network location seems to stay the same everytime I try to join/create a game and I always get the same "[Citadel Play Controller] Network location:" line.

Since you got different network location with VPN and managed to connect to game fine, I think this is a server side problem. It is just weird why it seems to affect only small amount of people. I've found multiple threads with this same problem, and there isn't any dev comments or responses.
