Puddle Punch does not take into account all conditional weapon damage increases like normal Melee attacks do. Using Point blank, we can see the light melee attack does 82 damage, while a puddle punch 'light melee attack' does 68 damage. This is similarly replicable with the lack of adjusted damage on puddle punch if using an item like long range which does not change its damage either. Interestingly, items like Pristine Emblem ALSO do not factor in their conditions, doing 84 on a light melee attack and 76 on a puddle punch!

Items like crippling headshot which reduce bullet resist appropriately have the same damage on both light melee attack and puddle punch.

Just to add that while testing this, I noticed that puddle punch does scale correctly with intensifying magazine and combat barrier which have conditional weapon damage, so there is some inconsistency in how it is applied across items
 
These bugs are still in the game. Just tested with Close Quarters, which increases normal melee attack damage by 25 % but doesn't for Puddle Punch.
 
Today's update brings heightened viability to Weapon Damage based builds centering around Puddle Punch. Yet this interaction still remains broken fundamentally - until they are fixed, all data collected on the balance of Weapon Viscous this patch is spurious.

Conditional weapon damage items apply to Puddle Punch ONLY when they are not related to range.

Initially I thought that Long Range not working for Puddle Punch's damage was due to the distance check occurring at the location the melee occurred. However now that I understand Close Quarters also does not apply to Puddle Punch, it is clear to see there is something wrong with the game logic.
