New update 07/09/24 has caused VK_ERROR_DEVICE_LOST error on start up (linux mint)

Since the update a few mins ago I now receive the error VK_ERROR_DEVICE_LOST on startup which prevents the game from opening at all, I have been running the game flawlessly till the update (i was in game when the update dropped)
Given its only just happened now im going to presume its the update but if anyone has any advice to try and fix this in the meantime that would also be great

I managed to fix this manually, The vulkan option in the video settings seems to cause this (I guess this is a my bad mabye?). If anyone gets into this issue in the future you will have to manually change the setting in the files.
Go to .../steamapps/common/Deadlock/game/citadel/cfg and open the file boot.vcfg in a text editor and remove the part that sets the default renderer completely, save and it should work (at least for me it did)
