Most inputs stuck after sending chat message

After killing an opponent I sent my teammate a "wp" in the chat, and after hitting send I couldn't look around anymore because the cursor was on the screen, the only mouse input that was working was shooting (and maybe zooming, cant remember). Also I couldn't use abilities and items, it felt like I was stuck in alt-key mode.

I think I've had this issue. Hitting escape and escape again fixed it.
