I understand that at this stage there is a mechanic test, and for this reason I will approach the issue of mapping from this side.

The map seems boring because every start looks the same. If you don't look closely, I won't even be able to understand what line I'm on.
Maybe it's worth making biomes? Conditionally central city lines. One of high buildings, the second low. If they push your high lane, then it becomes easier for the enemy to enter the low lane. Along the edges you can make lines in the form of a park with trees. Or on one side there is a park, and on the other the same park but with a different geometry.

As an option for the other side, mirror the card back. This way, as you move towards the enemy, the situation will change and it will become easier to identify the line.
