Melee Dodge (a solution to HMC)

Remove heavy melee cancelling from everything, make it it's own dedicated item. It's really stupid that you can randomly do it with a $1.2k and two $6k items for no reason.

Just a loose idea cuz I'm not an expert when it comes to item stats, but HMC needs to either be made into it's own dedicated item or removed from the game completely. It's so bad.

Melee Dodge (T3, $4.25k, Active Item, Orange)

[Uses Fleetfoot as component]
+150 Bonus Health
+35% Slide Distance

[Passive]
Removes the Move Speed penalty while shooting.

[Active] (20s)
Activating this item lets you instantly cancel a Heavy Melee attack, keeping your momentum.
+3m/s Move Speed (Conditional)
+30% Temporary Ammo (Conditional)
4s Duration
 
The more elegant solution would be an item that propels you forward, like a cheaper Majestic leap that only gives forward momentum but doesn't launch you in the air, instead of a melee cancel.

Melee cancel is not really something intuitive for new players or as a mechanic in general, and if it should exist it should probably be some sort of mechanic available to everyone, and not having a specific item for canceling, even so it wouldn't keep your momentum because heavy melees are supposed to kill your momentum at the end.
 
I'm a fan of heavy melee cancelling. I don't build it super often but I think these kinda niche skill expressions are good for the game imo. I don't think making it into a specific item is needed. It is also no longer character dependent so everybody can use it if you want.
