Currently If a new player plays with someone who has played a lot and know whats they're doing, even though the player is new and is playing bad, and they lose all the games with the skilled friend the game still puts their matchmaking score or whatever skill measuring thing you have for matchmaking too high for when they decide to match make on their own. To the point where when my friend who is really really bad plays with me and then now plays with a new player they are in crazy hard lobbies and it will say there is a skill range between them just because they played with me!
Please look at my friend "Paul Newmans's Balls" the Bebop as an example as they are very new and not good at shooters in the attached files I've shown some stats of the total 8 games hes played as you can see in this first example hes is not good at the game but as you will see in the next example that doesn't matter when he plays with a new player as he is in a high skill range now for some reason! 1st Match id: 25225731 2nd: 24844546
As you can see they did not do too great and still are not doing great and now here is the stat line for their match with they're new player friend they did without me that still said it was a high-skill range match! And they did worse than the new player "Potato" . But yeah do not think this skill range thing measures correctly. Match id: 25377967
