Matchmaking completly broken

The Following happened to me when queing with a friend (him queuing Yamato, Bebop, Lady Geist and me Lady Geist, Pocket, Kelvin)

1. Match

I Get Geist, He Gets Yamato. Im in Second lane from the left with another Duo. He is in in the solo Lane completly on the right.

2. Match (He Changes Yamato -> Haze)

I get Geist again, he gets Haze. This time we are BOTH on solo lanes?!?

3. Match

I get Pocket and he gets ... Lady Geist? Even though this is his 3rd Pick and my 1st? and this time we are in the same lane...


Please, for the love of god, allow us to force a selection as well as the playing together with friends even if that means to have way longer queue times or wide matches. We just wanna play together with the heroes we picked... And this isnt the only time this happened. I dont remember a SINGLE time in the last month (and longer) that me and my friend had "both" the heroes we picked and the same lane!

I can't speak to the character preference, but I think it's really odd to only have 3 characters selected. I have 2 characters as purple, 5 as yellow, and almost every other character as white. It's strange that you are only picking 3 characters. It's very possible that you're matching with people who have low play time on those characters, so they are picking characters you also have low playtime with. I can't say for sure though.

As far as the lane selection, have you checked the box for "Lane Preference: With Party"? You have to set this every time you queue for a match. It's very easy to overlook.

Yeah "With Party" was selected. We wanted to play again since that feature was now there.

And for the first part: thats what i mean by wanting a "forced" option which will guarantee to give me the character that i currently want to play. As well as forcing you to be with your lane partner. As, even though that option you mentioned was selected, we didnt get to play together in 2/3 matches and in the one we did, he got a character that was lower priority for him then it was on my selection (Lady Geist)

The scenario you're highlighting seems to make sense to me. If you've matched against other people playing low-priority / new characters, the game would give you low priority character to balance it. The only problem is that there is no indicator that your opponents are also new to the characters they're playing. I wish there was a "new player match" indicator or something to show that there is a reason you've been given something abnormal.

Update: You can now no longer use the "With-Party" Option as it disables itself the instant that the new options menu closes
(feels a bit petty that it doesnt work at all now xD)
