Match Ended, but still says match in progress and cannot join a new game

Played a game of street brawl and lost. Didn't manually exit the match, but the Match in progress alert appears in lobby, and I cannot get rid of it unless I abandon and take a penalty. I have the option to rejoin, but it just shows the defeat screen and boots me back to the lobby after a second or two. I attempted to join another game but cannot because the game believes the other match is still active.

Edit: I restarted the game and initially had trouble syncing to the cloud and couldn't access online features, maybe this was part of it? After a few minutes everything is back to normal. Also, I may not be the only one, a couple people in the discord reported being booted mid match and one received a 3 hour ban.

having this too, pressing rejoin seems to reset the countdown until it counts you as abandoned, so ive been constantly rejoining the already finished match in fear of getting a ban for no reason

im pretty sure this is a problem with steam right now as i can't launch anything without getting a cloud error and people are talking about tf2 matchmaking not working. but this has happened to me twice now, the first time i was disconnected i assume because the server died and was never able to reconnect and now i just won a street brawl game and rejoining it just plays the win screen and puts me back in the lobby with the same message.

Also having this exact situation. Only fix I’ve found without getting a penalty is to restart my pc after every match because that’s the only way I’ve found to get by the trouble with cloud thing.

same, got a 6 hour temp ban from server issues *update* ban is gone woo valve
