I've been playing a lot of Deadlock and I've had lagging issues since the start, and after building a new PC (but with same GPU) I've continued having them. I don't have any issues playing other games, including Valve ones like Dota 2.
I'm aware it's early days and not yet optimized etc, but I'm hoping this helps some developer narrow something down, but maybe not.
Occasionally, the GPU usage will spike from around 40-60% to 99-100% and totally slows down my entire PC, it's even caused a BSOD once from GPU crash, and no amount of stress testing my GPU could get that to occur again. It will recover a bit, but the FPS never truly recovers. Once Deadlock just black screened in a fight, and never recovered, had to close task, happened in the middle of a team fight.
Someone else in my game (ID: 2170000) was also having issues, and it was whenever Lash was on the screen for whatever reason, I was too busy being frustrated to losing to do any testing in that regard but I have noticed the trend of it only happening during fights. Lash may not have had anything to do with it, but that's what my teammate had noticed, maybe a red flag, could also just be team fighting in general triggers something.
I will go games without this happening at all, and I will have the odd game that is literally unplayable, Laning phase is sub 20 fps, and fights will be worse. The only thing I've found that works is to restart the game, but this has just led to the problem starting again later in the game if it does happen at all.
My Specs if it helps:
3070 Ti
7800x3d
32gb 6000mhz 38cs
Windows 11`Pro
Nothing crazy, but this does seem to be particularly taxing on my GPU.
I should note, that if I have my graphics settings on Fastest or Best Looking, makes no difference in the spikes, the fps drops are the same. Happens on both DX11 and Vulcan. My FPS is 250+ usually before this starts happening. Latency is a steady 120-130ms on both NA and EU so I play both, no difference there.
