Magic Carpet inconsistent canceling from Ability damage

There are inconsistencies with whether abilities cast before using Magic Carpet cancel it when they deal damage. Below is a list of abilities I was able to test and whether they cancel carpet and if there are circumstances around it. Many do, but others inexplicably don't or only under certain conditions.

  • Abrahms
    • Siphon Life: Yes
  • Bebop
    • Sticky Bomb: Yes, but only if there's a second enemy hit. The target alone is not enough.
  • Dynamo
    • Kinetic Pulse: Yes
  • Gray Talon
    • Immobilizing Trap: Yes
  • Haze
    • Sleep Dagger: Yes
    • Bullet Dance: No
  • Infernus
    • Flame Dash: Yes
    • Afterburn: No
    • Concussive Combustion: Yes
  • Ivy
    • Kudzu Bomb: Yes, but only if the target enters the area of effect after carpet starts.
    • Air Drop: Yes
  • Kelvin
    • Frost Grenade: Yes
  • Lady Geist
    • Essence Bomb: Yes, but only the initial damage
    • Life Drain: No
    • Malice: No
  • Mirage
    • Fire Scarabs: Yes
    • Djinn's Mark: No
  • Mo & Krill
    • Burrow: Yes
  • Parardox
    • Pulse Grenade: Yes, but only if the target enters the area of effect after carpet starts.
    • Time Wall: Yes
    • Paradoxical Swap: No
  • Pocket
    • Barrage: Yes
    • Flying Cloak: No
    • Affliction: No
  • Seven
    • Lighting Ball: Yes, but only if the target enters the area of effect after carpet starts.
    • Static Charge: Yes
  • Vindicta
    • Stake: Yes
  • Viscous
    • Splatter: Yes. Additionally, the aoe slow does as well, but only if the target enters the area of effect after carpet starts.
    • Goo Ball: Yes
  • Warden
    • Alchemical Flask: Yes
    • Binding Word: Yes
    • Last Stand: No
  • Wraith
    • Card Trick: No
    • Telekinesis: Yes
