Leaving Penalty

Ive left one game due to an emergency when I first started playing, like 20 hours in.

Today, my internet went out due to my son tripping a breaker. Before I could get to him at the breaker box, he started flipping switches. Which in turn, he threw the breaker the internet is on causing it to power cycle. I disconnected from the game and before it booted back up, I was given the leaver status. No big deal, second one. I try to Q and get the penalty for it. Again, no big deal. Im not asking for it to be removed.

However, I want to address two things.

1) The penalty showed to lift at a specific time and date. It was not until 5 minutes after the listed time and date that it lifted. So it shows an inaccurate time/date. Not a big deal, minor issue.

2) There are things out of players control that could cause them to DC. Power surge, internet outage, etc. Two leaver statues in 110 hours shouldn't warrant any sort of ban. A warning message should pop up for the player about the impact it has on the game. One teamfight or mid steal can change the flow of the game and lead to a underdog comeback.

Again, I am not defending myself or my ban. However, I think the system does need some changing and checking the accuracy of the timestamp ban.

You get one free abandon every 15 games I believe, do it too often and you get escalating timed bans. Must be a carried over from dota. Perhaps it's a case of having two matchmaking bans. First, when you abandon and you get back to the menu screen you can't immediately find match. Second, since it's your second abandon in a short time the system will hand out a punishment (another timed matchmaking ban). This punishment will take effect after the initial ban has ended making it look like the initial ban duration was inaccurate.

Take this with a grain of salt though, this has happened to me in DOTA but not in Deadlock.

Information I did not know. However, I was WELL past my 15 games before getting a time ban.

But did not know about the escalating. I still think there should be a little leeway before any sort of time ban. 2 games in 15 should be the first time ban. 1 game in 15 shouldn't be anything but a warning. However, any set numbers will cause people to abuse the system nonetheless.
I still stand by reporting leaver's manually as well just to be sure.

I think my wording was weird, English is not my first language or even my second. There are zero repercussions when you abandon once every 15 or 20 games (regardless of your total playtime) but after you abandon that one "free" match you still can't immediately queue up again. You get a timed ban for abandoning and this ban will always apply after quitting a match before it is safe to leave. It exists to discourage queue dodging and will apply regardless if you are a serial quitter or not. The next ban that happens after the initial ban is the punishment for a player's repeated abandons within the window of 15 or 20 games. In essence this is your "true" ban for abandoning 2 games within a short amount of time.

Still not sure on the window though. Some people say it's one abandon a week but others say it's every time the behavior system updates which is about 15-20 matches. Please take with a grain of salt still. I know for sure the ban to prevent queue dodging exists but I haven't experienced getting banned for too frequent abandons yet.

No you explained it well. Your English is very good. Im just saying that every 20 or so matches you should only get a warning. I get people may abuse it. But IRL stuff happens that is out of your control that could cause a DC. Like in my instance. Or if someone randomly loses power.
