It's actually not very difficult - I don't think you perma anyone for it you just use a % threshold (games left/ games entered) and choose what level gets the 1 week / 1 month hammer etc - if somebody's PC is crashing every game and they continue to queue and ruin the game that's on them and they deserve it either way they can queue into a test map and make sure its working. They should also be sent to the bottom of MMR (which I know sucks for new players but honestly there's no where else for them to go).On the other hand, you also have genuine players who crash and then have trouble reconnecting due to technical issues and get abandons, so its not an easy thing to balance.

Nobody is saying people don't encounter unsolvable issues - but if you have these issues and you decide to queue up 10 games in a row and get disconnected each game and throwing for other 5 people, at some point you have intent. You knew you couldn't run the game and you kept doing it and ruining games - you shouldn't be "permabanned" but you should definitely get a long cooldown which at a minimum will give you time to try to actually fix your issues. Some people encounter issues that seem unsolvable, requiring them to uninstall and reinstall the game, as shown in the video. For these individuals, there are no solutions available on blogs, so it’s difficult to say they acted with intent when they left the game.
It's not someone's pc crashing, it's the unstable game. A few weeks ago, it was common for lash's ult to crash people's games (like half the server would crash and DC). I'm not sure the devs have a way to determine their intent when they left. I just had another game where I got a corrupted file, and it took over 5 min to verify the game files to be able to relaunch the game. I got an abandon since no one paused.... It would be way more frustrating if I got perma banned for alpha testing with good intentions
It's a playtest, you don't want them to play and test the game?if somebody's PC is crashing every game and they continue to queue and ruin the gam
What is this? They can play and test the game if their cpu can run it?? If it can't - they need to figure it out right? If 95% of the player base can run the game and finish matches, it's not a valve issue right? How are they adding value to the playtest if they are ruining all the games they join I don't get it? And again, another post encouraging ignoring a massive issue based on a super minority of people who actually can't run the game. It's a playtest, you don't want them to play and test the game?
I agree, most time it's a crash DC they do come back. You have to guess sometimes if its a rage quit or a technical issue and pray it was a technical issue lol. These posts aren't targeting this issue - how many games have you played? What % of the games has this happened? You think it's high enough to be in the same range as the people that join games and rage quit cause they can't act like a human being for 30 minutes? It definitely isn't. Multiple people on this thread trying to discourage them from fixing a 99% problem for the 1% of people who crash and abandon out 1/4 of their games? I'm sorry I just don't believe there are that many people still playing the game who can only finish 1 out of 4 games.
