Just a general shop art suggestion.

I know that the game in an alpha state and art is not nearly finished, but still a suggestion to change a regular silhouette for icons for a more thematic art: old 1800s-1900s cards (post cards, playing cards, old school tatto), illustrations, old commercial art, show posters, etchings, prints: gouache, old prints, maybe monocolor linocut, or just a more cartoonish art that is more sutable for that setting. I know its not a big issue for a gameplay aspect of a game, but i think for a vibe is very important. I know people at valve are very creative and talanted. 123321.png

I rather like this. I've found it hard to tell at a glance which items someone has by trying to decipher the little black-on-orange/green/purple icons, and even after 100+ hours I still have to hover over them. I wish the items were more distinctive like Dota's where they are instantly recognizable, even if tiny. Good work.

Oh yes, absolutely. Kind of got carried away with the text and forgot to mention that main reason for this thread that these items are so hard to distinquish from each other at a glance, especially if you're not buying from the builds and changing things on a fly.

Great suggestion.

As someone who's (unfortunately) invested many hours into League of Legends, I can say that having distinct illustrations for different items is a great feature, as it allows an experienced player to quickly gain an overview of any given player's set of items, and how to potentially counter or build around them. This also limits how much time you spend in the shop. Currently, in Deadlock, I find myself having to mouse over mostly all items to recall what they do.
