Buying tier 1 item (i.e Extra Spirit > Improved Spirit > Boundless Spirit) and attempting to purchase a tier 3 item (skipping tier 2) when not having enough slots will prevent u from purchasing the tier 3, buying tier 2 then tier 3 works but when u do actually have more slots it will allow u to skip tier 2 and go to tier 3 even tho it doesn't use a new slot.
