Invalid action messages (low stamina, missed timing, etc.) break when there has been other text on screen recently

Explained in the title. Found an easy way to reproduce the issue:

Open the buy menu (or escape menu, either works)
Dash and immediately spam jump to miss the timing, prompting an invalid action and the corresponding message
