Infernus + Ethereal Shift

Not sure if this is meant to be an interaction or not but if you play as Infernus and use the item Ethereal Shift you can hit your Ultimate (concussive combustion) and then hit Ethereal Shift and you will become ethereal but the ultimate will still continue and go off. So you can be totally invulnerable but also have your ult pop and not be stunned by the effect.

How to replicate: Be Infernus, Buy Ethereal Shift, have ult unlocked and off cooldown, activate utl, then activate ethereal shift before the ult timer goes off
 
this is intentional... infernus' ult doesn't stun him only enemies. it would be super easy to run out of a stationary infernus ult, so idk why an infernus would even want to use Eshift after ulting
 
If its intentional then it conflicts with every single other hero who has a charged ultimate, on any other character if you activate something it disables the ability to use items, try it with haze or bebop or anyone else. I discovered this because I was fighting an Infernus inside of a kelvin dome, he was very low and about to die, popped ult then ethereal shift and was able to avoid all damage while still damaging us inside of the dome. Seems like it goes against the idea of ethereal shift being a "no damage in or out" item since he is outputting damage while not able to be damaged.
 
that was a smart way of countering kelvin dome on the infernus' part. so the difference between those abilities is they are channeled where as infernus doesn't channel his ult. E shift will stop channeling. once infernus presses ult he will pop in 3 seconds no matter what aside from dying. funny enough E shift is a good counter against infernus' ult. you got outplayed maybe instead trying to blame it on a bug take the experience and learn from it
