Inconsistent character animation framerate

After the new patch my game manages to run at a smooth 240 FPS pretty much constantly, but the animation for my character is only at a substantially lower frame rate (60 I think). It isn't consistent though either, sometimes it will be perfectly smooth for a bit and then start stuttering again.
