ID n/a - Distance Field options can make unreasonable demands from GPU !PSA!

Now I'm not an engineer, or someone very knowledgeable in game development. So, I don't really know if this is by design or not. I'm sure Distance Fields are an incredibly complex way of calculating light, surfaces and geometry.

But, these graphical settings in particular I think make some unreasonable demands from a GPU.

I use a AMD 7700x, 32gbs of DDR5 memory clocked at 6000mhz. I use an RTX 4090, and primarily enjoy playing in 4k.

There are incredible spikes in temperatures and wattage when having these particular distance field options enabled.
Again you'll have to excuse my ignorance if this is by design but I'm seeing spikes for nearly 200 - 300 watts in certain scenarios and if left unchecked
these WILL thermal throttle your GPU.

Yes. With AMD 5800X3D CPU, Radeon 6900XT GPU, 32GB RAM, and NVME SSD I get massive TDC limit power spikes on the GPU with max settings. With Distance Field disabled and lowered like in your settings, my fps goes from 70 in the training ground area to 160. Power usage also massively goes down as TDC limit isnt being maxed out anymore. This is a big performance & power optimization issue for systems especially handhelds like Steam Deck or ROG Ally.
