I got banned for disconnecting despite the fact I reconnected before the game began

i failed to connect initially but I reconnected before the game began.
It had the "you can abandon the game without penalty" message from the beginning despite everybody being in the game.
After the match ended I found out i had been temporarily banned from matchmaking.
