How come sometimes with Mirage's Ult, I can't see the target location?

I can always see it in test sandbox, but in-game, when I use Mirage's ultimate, sometimes I don't get vision of the target location. What am I doing wrong, does anyone know? Am I supposed to be pressing a certain button combination?

I've been having the same issue. Works every time in testing, but in game works maybe 40% of the time for me.
