High ping since the new patch

Title. Joined a match to play with some friends, we all had pings of 150+ except for our friend on the east coast of NA who had 88. We came to the conclusion that despite the game region being NA in the lobby (our host was west coast NA) the game was placing us in a different region. This is still occuring to me in solo games, including bot lobbies. I am currently located in AB, Canada. Prior to this patch my ping was 40-50. This isn't an issue with my connection as it was happening to everyone of the people in my party in a prior match.

Update:

I am infact being placed in european lobbies for some reason. I got my european friend on and regardless of who's host, or forcing region via console, we're in european servers. his ping is 17.

I am also having this issue for some reason, no idea how to fix it.
