Hero Priority didn't give me Holliday despite her not being in the match

Despite having Holliday as priority in my hero roster and no one else getting her in the match, I was given Bebop.

except that you are, in previous patches would be guaranteed your prio'd heros if nobody else was playing them


you would not be guaranteed that if multiple people had the same priority on for that hero, in which case it was up to chance.

priority does not do anything right now as far as i can tell, i've gotten heros that the friends i queue with have on high prio, while i have them merely selected. game ruining bug imo

it wasn't guaranteed even before, it's just the player count skyrocketed, so it matches you with players of your (subhero) rank which are different depending on your hero-spexific playtime/skill, it never guaranteed you get the highest priority character always

Of course, but you need to select a minimum amount. Priority is supposed to give you your preferred when available, but it's not doing that.

seems like matchmaking thought it was "more fair" to put you against somebody that had the same "hero rank" as your Bebop/Shiv over a longer queue time searching for somebody with the same hero rank as your Holiday/Pocket, even with the priority set...

what does priority mean

when selecting heroes in your roster, Right Click give them different priority for the matchmaking to put you with and against.
there are 3 levels of priority, it shows as one/two blue triangles pointing up (high/higher priority) or no triangles at all (low priority)

I think is because of the frontliner mechanic, shiv and maybe bebop are considered frontliners and the matchmaker tries to get at least 1 per team so it gave you those heroes instead of holliday even though holliday was higher prio
