an updated/completed version of this concept. cannot edit, so don't mind the spam.

Hero Design: After facing an apparent death at sea in the midst of a terrible naval battle in the 1850's, this ragged, raging captain mysteriously appears on the shores of the New York Harbor some 70 years later, and not a day older. Now he seeks to complete the ritual so he can finish the fight. blah blah blah, captain ahab.

Kit Concept: TF2 Demoman adaptation with strong Kunkka inspiration (2 abilities and theme) and a bit of Abaddon (shield) for overall kit synergy.

Ability 1 - Bomb's Away!
25s CD, charges+1, 6m radius, +50% damage amp to self and +25% damage amp to enemies on self detonation, 3.5s fuse time.
Launch a bomb that deals damage after a brief arming time. Attaches to any surface, and can be held for self-detonation with damage amplification to enemies and damage amplification to hero for non-lethal damage. Bombs instantly detonate if within 2m of any enemy hero or minion.

1. +1 charge
2. +? damage bonus, +10% damage amplification to self-detonation.
3. Hero can now press [MOUSE 2] to manually detonate last cast bomb. Manual detonations can now knock back Hero and allies.

Concept: Bit tricky to design since Geist's bomb is perfectly strong, but basically there are some important nuances here to make the hero stand-out and have more fun as a bomber. In addition to charges, these bombs can now be used for proper (combo) trapping, can be held for self detonation (with a damage amp against both enemies and the hero himself if the fuse runs out while held), and finally, the last upgrade allows for some real TF2 demoman sticky jumping as well as demoman style manual detonation. Also toyed with the bombs automatically stickying to enemies ala techies/bebop, but that's up to the kind people actually making the game :D. Manual detonation could also simply be for this hero only if that might conflict too much with Holliday's bounce-pad.

Ability 2 - Eternal Return
30s 2s duration on enemies, 4s duration on allies.
Your ghost parrot impacts a friendly or enemy Hero, marks their position with an X, and returns them to it after several seconds. Kunkka Hero can trigger the return at any time during the duration. Lasts twice as long on allied heroes.

1. +1s duration
2. -10s CD
3. Struck enemies are now revealed on the map for 10s.

Concept: Simple point and fire 3d translation of a classic dota ability. Simple synergy for trapping/bombing, saving poor teammates and granting them a shield, etc. Also, mechanical twin of Vindicta's crow familiar ability.

Ability 3 - Spectral Crest
35s CD 4s duration 150 damage shield, flat 10% health of damage taken and 6s duration hp regen. +25% fire rate, +25% movement speed
Cast a spectral tidal shield on self or allies that grants a movement speed bonus and increased fire-rate. Absorbs a set amount of all types of damage, and when burst, heals for a flat percentage of health and bonus health regen.

1. +1s duration
2. +15% movement speed
3. +250 damage bonus to shield

Concept: Some shield/sustain for the kit in laning and to support himself or allies. More or less Abaddon's shield, but does not deal AOE damage when burst. Meant to help allies charge in, save allies, or enable the hero to go into a weapon damage build/charge into front-lines with a self-detonating bomb.

Ability 4 - Ghost Ship
160s CD 9m radius 2.5s stun
Cast to summon a ridable ghostly ship that sails through the battle before smashing apart, damaging and stunning all enemies caught near the wreckage in an AOE explosion.

1. +? damage bonus
2. +4m radius
3. -40s CD, ghost ship acceleration is increased.

Concept: More of a ghost skiff than a full-fledged ship, but conceptually would be a fully 3D and ridable ghost skiff that "crashes" into any object and explodes into a massive AOE just like the titular Kunkka ghost-ship. Would be a literal ridable platform, so imagine this guy coming in with a lane-buddy for silly setups. Hero can simply just jump off and mark stragglers or ride out the ship for some self-detonating setups. All in good fun of course.
