Hero Idea: Mimic The Glutton

In lore the is reference to monsters and I figured there should be more villainous monsters since the others seem to be friendly.

Abilities:
  1. Stray Tongue - Mimic's extends a large tongue from his mouth that applies a slow to the target hit and if it lands on an enemy hero, should give him the ability to pull himself towards the target. Should be a close to medium and apply slowness to the target hit. If an ally is hit, only the ability to pull himself to the hero will happen.

  2. Bite - Mimic literally just opens his mouth and bites an enemy. If he kills a candle warrior with it it should give him health back. With each successful hit on an enemy hero the base attack will increase by 1

  3. Change Shape - Mimic can copy other beings and inanimate objects in order to surprise his victims. In order to copy he must select an the object desired at semi close range. Mimic will take a second or two to transform into the object. Illusion ends when receiving damage or attacking. Things he can transform into could be most static objects on the map: gargoyle, golden statue, crates, ect. or perhaps even a candle warrior. While in this transformed state health regen should be reduced and movement speed slowed. The idea I had with this is to not even appear on enemies maps or trigger the guardians attacks.

  4. Glutton Unleashed- Mimic's ultimate ability is turning into a large static monster. Any enemy caught inside his AoE will be grabbed by some tongue and brough into his mouth and munched on. This will give mimic health from the lost health of whatever enemy(s) are being munched on.
His auto attack could just be him spitting out. The overall idea for this guy was to have a close range assassin character that was more sneaky than Shiv.

There are some great ideas here. One challenge that I'll mention off the bat is what this character will look like. I think for their ultimate, the idea of them transforming into a giant treasure chest, in typical mimic fashion, would be great; but otherwise they need to have some tangible form. In theme with abilities like Tongue and Bite, I imagine this character having a very large, inhuman head, with rows of teeth and a giant tongue lolling around. I wouldn't give them eyes.

The tongue grab is a great staple.

For the bite, there's a lot more we could do for this one, especially to make it distinct from a basic melee. Having it restore health on a kill is a good start, but I'm not sold by the scaling damage mechanic.

For one, I think that this could hit in a large AoE, accompanied with the animation of their head growing massive in size.

Due to the Tongue ability, and imagining this thing trying to Bite while having a Tongue attached to something, I'm imagining something another direction we could go (and/or) that while a creature is attached by Tongue, that using Bite will have some additional effect. Perhaps Tongue attached to a target, and that tethers the Mimic to the target, but using Bite as a follow up drags the tongue in. Or, keep Tongue as it is, but while it's attached, if you use Bite, it automatically activates the other aspect of the Tongue ability, pulling them in. This concept is so strong, that I would consider dropping the ultimate and incorporating the element (eat them and spit them out) into this two-ability combo entirely.

The idea of eat them, and then you can spit them out in any direction--that's a strong concept. I do like the ultimate a lot as it is. I imagine a bunch of shadowing arms reaching out and grabbing units and dragging them into a giant mimic treasure chest before munching on them, then spitting them out, with the idea being that you can choose where to spit them out by looking in that direction.

natural selection has the Onos whose primary ability is to much on soldiers and take out key targets temporarily (if not kill them), it would be really cool to see that here. that other game from that other company has a character named tahm kench that does this too.
