Hero Idea Dump Part 2

Here's my second Hero Idea Thread, as with my last post like this these ideas are a bit half baked in terms of completeness, but I like to share them, hopefully this inspires somebody

Quick Summary

Mothman - sneaky Cryptid that brings disaster to his enemies
The Nightmare - International Criminal who uses fear to manipulate enemies
Puppeteer - Character who controls another character to do additional damage and
Tetrachromat - Creepy Mystic with the ability to see through walls



  • Mothman
    • Time to throw my hat into the ring of Mothman character
    • So the modern lore of Mothman is that Mothman can predict disasters, or causes disasters, so let's do something with that
    • Abilities
      • Ability 1 - Misfortune Bomb - throws a bomb at a sport that gives Mothman a damage buff for each enemy character hit by it
      • Ability 2 - Agile flap - flaps your wings once to move a long distance, can be used to escape or approach
      • Ability 3 - Passive - Cursed Outcast - after a while not in combat or interacting with anything Mothman will become invisible, this will break on any attack or using the ziplines, while invisible you will take more damage from all sources
      • Ability 4 - Channel Doom - Slows and builds up DOOM on all enemies in a radius, if the debuff fills up enemies take a large amount of spirit damage
  • The Nightmare
    • This started with the idea of an evil dream person, then I remembered Haze exists, then I thought, why not just do it anyway and make them a criminal
    • Lore: International criminal known as The Nightmare, has evaded authorities throughout most of the world, continually extorting individuals through stolen information and threats of Psychological violence, having evaded the authorities for so long The Nightmare has exposed himself to fight for the Patrons
    • Abilities - I don't have a great idea for this, it mostly started as lore
      • I have some ideas for fear based abilities, but I think the developers don't want abilities that control a characters movement that much but here they are anyway
      • Ability 1 - Mind Spike - Does spirit damage to an enemy, also adds a debuff that increases the damage of subsequent Mind Spikes, if the targeted Enemy is Sleeping they take additional spirit damage
      • Ability 2 - Shadow Sneak - moves across the ground quickly as a shadow, this makes The Nightmare untargetable and able to pass underneath wall obstacles and up walls (Maybe with an upgrade to cause enemies this passes over to sleep?)
      • Ability 3 - Pacyfying charm - causes enemies in a radius to Sleep
      • Ability 4 - Mindkiller - Attacks the minds of Enemies in a radius around The Nightmare. Enemies in this radius will be silenced and take spirit damage, if the Enemies are Sleeping then they will stay sleeping and take increased Spirit damage
  • Puppeteer
    • The idea here was to create a puppet type character, if you've played Fighting games you might be familiar with this, basically it's a character that controls another entity to do actions
    • In the Case of deadlock this will be another entity
    • Lore: Could be anything, person chained to a demon, actual puppeteer, a member of the friends of humanity that has enslaved a supernatural being, infinite possibilities
    • This character is made up of two entities, the Character itself, and the Puppet, the Puppet has it's own health and can be defeated, if this happens most of the abilities(except Ultimate) will go on an extended cooldown preventing the puppet from being SUMMONED until
    • Important to note, this character assumes that the puppet is connected to the character with a string or chain-like connection
    • Abilities
      • Ability 1 - Summon puppet - this summons the puppet that this character is controlling to a spot(targeted the way an aoe ability is targeted) (again, this doesn't have to be literally a puppet) the puppet will attack enemies withing a radius of itself, and it will cause a small burst of spirit damage where it is summoned(that last one could be an upgrade)
      • when the puppet is SUMMONED this ability changes to
        • Command puppet - this orders the puppet to move to a location again targeted like any targeted aoe ability,
      • Ability 2 - Yank - this pulls on the connection between the character and the puppet to move the character to the puppets location, this ability won't move the character all the way to the puppet if the puppet is too far away, but it will move the character regardless of distance
      • Ability 3 - Defend Me - SUMMONS the puppet at the location of the character and gives both the character and puppet a barrier, if the puppet is already summoned, this will teleport the puppet to the character
      • Ability 4 - Unleash - This causes the puppet to rampage in a large radius chosen by the character, this ability also resurrects the puppet if it has been defeated
    • I'm really happy with this one
  • Tetrachromat
    • Inspired by the KGatLW album Polygondwanaland, heres a guy who can see through walls
    • Design: This character is more of a supportive character that can heal allies, make enemies more vulnerable, and gain information no one else can
    • Abilities
      • Ability 1 - Seering Vision - Enemies in The Tetrachromat's vision cone will take spirit damage and gain spirit damage vulnerability over time
      • Ability 2 - Soothing sight - The Tetrachromat and allies in the Tetrachromat's vision radius will lose debuffs after a short period of time
      • Ability 3 - I'm not sure what this ability could be, probably something unrealted to sight just to mix things up
      • Ability 4 - True Sight - This allows the Tetrachromat to see through all walls, revealing the locations of all characters and reveals invisible characters

  • Iris (Tetrachromat 2)
    • New Design: This character deals high damage by gaining information no one else can
    • Abilities
      • Ability 1 - Oculus - Deal Spirit Damage over time at your crosshairs while maintaining momentum, builds up to cause Enemies to lose vision range and ability range.
      • Ability 2 - Glaring Light - Deal area damage, then leave a zone behind where allies are invisible and enemies cannot target each other. Enemies are slowed and lose spirit resistance each second if looking towards the center.
      • Ability 3 - Refraction - Your bullets and abilities create additional spirit damage skillshots. They go off in random directions then home in on the nearest enemy after hitting the world.
      • Ability 4 - Scan - Target an area, revealing the locations of all characters, even if invisible. Scanning yourself or an Allied Hero deals spirit damage in the area per Allied Hero.
