I think a hero that is either a film director, actor, or any other roles from the film industry would work well with the theme of this game, especially since in real life, the top two US States that is most well known for film studios are New York and California. Furthermore. since Broadway is mentioned in the game, why not have a hero that once worked in the theater (like the plays or performances).
If it's theater based:
Actor: Can use abilities to deceive the troopers for at least 20 seconds (or less for balancing), using a normal pistol or any other gun that would be used, and other acrobatic based abilities.
The Director and choreographer: The director would be able to rack up souls faster (because he's the one behind the scenes lol) and choreographer would have double the reflexes than the actor role. Both Director and choreographers would have better skills, however, would get a weaker ranged weapon as the downside.
If it's film industry:
The Camera man: The Camera man would mostly have mystic abilities mixed in regular attacks like any others, but uses the motion camera as the special ability, either a soul stealing ability against enemies, slowing an enemy down, or maybe if you point at your allies, a soul healing ability, or may "boost their confidence" giving the ally temporary strength, speed, or any other extra boosts.
Director (film): Unlike the theater variant, this one uses their various tools and good directing skills to help as a support class, although, this variant will still have a weaker ranged weapon, and double soul move like the theater variant.
As for actors, still have a deceiving ability, but also a type of rage, for not being featured, idk.
