A Fate's Tale:
Even with magic permeating every aspect of life, very few things have changed about human nature.
Dating in the 20th century can be rough. Harriet learned this the hard way when her romance with her high school sweetheart took an unexpected turn. A recent transfer student, the charming young man happened to have left behind his other high school sweetheart, and she was a witch. The fateful date that changed her life went perfectly enough, and she started the night imagining a perfect future. A moonlit walk through Central Park interspersed with make out sessions, heartfelt talks about staying together even when they were going to separate colleges. But when Harriet and Dudley went into Crowley's Diner on 155th Street, she never would have thought the darkly dressed girl that Chad was desperately trying to look away from had any bad intentions, but she did think her orange julius tasted oddly too sweet.
The next morning, her head swirled with thoughts of forever with her boyfriend and what she would look like in a wedding dress. She could practically hear the wedding bells. When she looked in the mirror, she found out why. Having been turned into a rabbit monster by a potion spiked milkshake, she could hear all the churches in the city. Of course, she needed to find Chad, and after scouring the city discovered his drink had been laced with a love potion that had him head over heels with the interloper. This romance was short lived when she stomped her ex-boyfriend and his ex-ex-girlfriend to death, landing her a long stint in prison.
Ten years later, the curse seems to have no signs of wearing off, but she was let off early for very good behavior. Harriet has found a life she quite likes as the quickest waitress at Crowley's Diner, but with the rumors of the coming eclipse and its promise of granting one any wish they desire, she has called out of work today to complete the Ritual.
