Hero Concept: The Hound

This guy I've been thinking about for awhile now and I think I have a pretty good idea for what he'd do. I general, I want him to be very brutish and aggressive and exploit the weakest links of a team (those that are too aggressive, too passive, etc.). I also want him to sort of be an answer to high burst hero's like Calico so that the game doesn't feel so in favor of them.

Name: The Hound

Character Overview: The Hound is a rampant serial killer known all across New York for his puzzling anonymity and ability to leave absolutely nothing behind of his victims. While the murders themselves may seemingly come at random, the victims of which are far from so with each having a tie to the darkest depths of the criminal underground. More specifically, those that associate with one Lady Jeanne Geist suffer the worst of all.

In terms of a character lore wise, I think he fits nicely as this child who was forced to grow up too fast after the murder of his mother and was exploited for it by a spirit. He has this very warped perception of society and what justice actually entails. I believe murderers and criminals in general are at their most threatening when their minds are already made up and they've fully justified their actions to themselves and I think that's shown here.

A Fate’s Tale: Before the opening of the first astral gate, a boy and his mother lived in hidden solidarity. Together, they made due with the few scraps the big city had dropped and survived the best they could, or so the boy thought. Despite the veil the mother had given the boy, the things she did in order to secure his future were revolting and to some irredeemable. That landed her in the sights of one particularly dangerous, yet dashing young woman, one who had no qualms with slaying the plague-ridden rats that infested her streets. With a sickly green hand and the stare of unrelenting prejudice, the boy watched as this figure murdered his mother in cold blood. The boy screamed & cried, begging for someone to undo what had been done. That's when The Man knocked at his doorstep. This frail and hairy passerby covered in clothes stained with years-old blood offered the boy a choice; either walk away from this city forever and leave her body to rot or let me unleash this wrath inside you so that together we can destroy the foul spirit haunting us both. Despite the boy's open ears, he heard nothing, only understanding that walking away meant letting this murderer free and dooming his mother to an unresolved end. That he could not let happen. Merging the inner strength of the beast and the soul of the boy, something holy unnatural was born, a man-eating monster who had only one goal in mind; destroy the Oathkeeper.

I think another aspect of what makes a character interesting is their interaction with other characters. The Hound has some pretty clear likes and dislikes with people. For example, he has a great admiration for Ivy since she was able to bring down a criminal organization to protect the ones she loves which the Hound obviously is envious of. But on the other hand, he would absolutely hate Calico since she kills for the sake of money and not to stop the bad things in the world meaning that, in his eyes, if the pay was right she would gladly kill and innocent family for the sake of her own selfish gain, something he directly suffered from in his life. Here are some conversation ideas that I think are pretty interesting.

Ivy/The Hound:
Conversation #1:
Ivy:
Why do you hide yourself under that disgusting coat, David? (His name isn't David, that's a title he told her to stay anonymous)
The Hound:
I... don't anyone to see my face.
Ivy: What? I'm sure the denizen's of New York City have seen far worse things in their lives, ha.
The Hound: I'm not sure about that.

Conversation #2:
The Hound:
So, how'd you do it?
Ivy: Do what?
The Hound: Drive Mendoza out of Spanish Harlem?
Ivy: Oh, it wasn't anything special, just a few butt-kicking's here and there, get the good word in, y'know.
The Hound: Hm... say, when this is all over, would you mind heading on over to my part of town? I've got some... special business needing attending to that I'm sure you'd be a great help with.
Ivy: Sure! But let's try to keep it short, my little brothers hates it when I'm gone too long.

Calico/The Hound:
Conversation #1:
The Hound:
You are a vile creature, Calico. Count your days lucky I do not rip your head off your shoulders as we speak!
Calico: That's quite a charged threat coming from someone of your reputation.
The Hound: I promise you this, my reputation is a horrific underselling compared to what I'll do to you!

Conversation #2:
Calico:
I see your wandering eyes, dog. If you lay even a finger on Ava I'll...
The Hound: I promise you, Calico, the last think I have on my mind is touching that disgusting worm ridden pest.

I have plenty more written out conversation ideas but I don't want to clutter up the threat too much.

To finish off, I drew a really scuffed sketch to kind of illustrate what I'd think he'd look like. A lot of Gurranq and Hellboy inspiration (Hellboy is S tier character design, you can @ me of that.)
