A FATE'S TALE:
"Fiendish, unrelenting, and grim; the one-eyed Shrike Thornebrook hails from Britain's foremost family when it comes to slaying magical creatures. Upon a lengthy battle with a dangerous Lich, he found his foe ruined and near death's door, as was he in equal measure. The Lich, in a desperate bid to continue living, grafted his own hand onto his dying foe, granting Shrike extraordinary power... but at the cost of becoming inexorably bound to the necromancer's spirit.
Shrike reasoned that sometimes, fighting fire with fire is what they'd least expect, and the perfect weapon... Or is that the parasitic Lich's voice whispering that dark reassurance?"

Basic Gameplay Outline:
Shrike is a hunter wielding blood magic and necromantic power. He can snipe down foes with his high damage pistol, imbuing it with blood magic. Shrike is also capable of reaping souls to gain more life, and eventually release it in a powerful burst of necrotic energy with the Lich's Hand.

Primary Fire: The Requiem
A high damage revolver pistol with limited magazine capacity. Sharpshooting is the name of the game.
Melee: The Thorned Chain
Shrike lashes out with a thorned whip; a family heirloom.

Ability 1: Blood Rite
Shrike loses a percantage (5%?) of his current HP, and deals extra damage per shot on his pistol.

Ability 2: Cloak of Dread
Shrike enshrouds himself in inky tendrils of shadow, becoming invisible for the duration. He gains movement speed, and any target within the radius is blinded and takes damage.

Ability 3: Grave Endurance
(PASSIVE) Shrike gains health upon killing any unit, based on a percentage of their Max HP. Grants additional bonuses when killing enemy Heroes.

Ability 4 (Ultimate): Finger of Death
Shrike unleashes the full power of The Lich's Hand, decimating a single target within range with necromantic energy. Deals heavy damage to a single target within range, and Shrike gains a permanent increase to its damage if it claims a Hero's soul. Final upgrade causes a small AoE effect instead of a single target.

Creator Notes:
Shrike is a character who has several inspirations, both for his character and his abilities. He was born of my love of Castlevania (hence the whip), as well as Dungeons and Dragons. The rather obvious D&D reference of The Hand dovetails neatly into his ultimate ability inspiration; Lion from Dota 2.
If you have any suggestions for this Hero concept, please do let me know! I'm open to discussion.

Cool kit, nice art and lore too
My only gripes with this kit are that his 2 sounds like a better version of haze's invisibility, and since they deal massive spirit burst dmg (compared to haze's more constant weapon dmg) I feel like itd be pretty unfun to fight against them if they had invis as well. What if it instead worked more akin to huskar's Q, and it pushed enemies away from Shrike in an aoe, maybe even slowing them, all for the cost of some of their hp like his 1.

Hey, thanks for the feedback! I believe you are correct and Cloak of Dread is a little too overtuned compared to Haze's inivis. I'll make the changes you've suggested, as it does better play in to the risk/reward feel of Shrike.

Update 1:
Clarification and balancing on HP loss/gain mechanics, damage, upgrades, and an overhaul of Cloak of Dread.

Ability 1: Blood Rite
Shrike loses a percentage of his current HP based on his Max HP total, and deals extra damage per shot on his pistol as Spirit Damage. When upgraded, it increases the fire rate.

Ability 2: Cloak of Dread
Shrike loses a percentage of his current HP based on his Max HP total and enshrouds himself in tendrils of of shadow. Any enemy unit within range takes Spirit Damage and are pushed away a short distance. When upgraded, the targets are slowed.

Ability 3: Grave Endurace
(PASSIVE) Shrike heals upon killing any unit, based on a percentage of their Max HP. Only 25% of the HP total of Non-Hero Units is restored. When upgraded, this ability provides additional benefits upon killing enemy Heroes.

Could anyone with more intimate knowledge of the number crunch of the game help provide some shape to the abilities? Also, other ideas for ability upgrades would be great!
