[Hero Concept] Father Martini: The Unholy Arsonist

Concept: Father Martini

Former preacher turned alcoholic, turned bum, Father Martini preached sermons in Greenwich park during the day and dumpster dived at night for scraps; but everything changed when he found that cursed pentagram when looking for a snack. It embedded itself in his left hand, giving him unholy abilities, but it came with a fatal drawback. Consuming alcohol would cause him to vomit instantly, forcing him into sobriety. While the cross kept the worst symptoms of alcohol cirrhosis at bay, the lack of a bottle drove him insane, plaguing him with hallucinations and a newfound intense hatred for the occult magic that cursed him. He especially hates Infernus, as his frequent visits to the Ixian’s bar were what resulted in his expulsion from the church, and it was also behind said bar that he found the cursed artifact.

Design:

Disheveled looking man wearing one of those priest robes with the little white collar on the neck. The outfit features a belt where he keeps some priestly items and a liquor bottle for when his wish is granted. It's torn and ragged because he sleeps in it every night. His left hand has a golden glowing pentagram in it which is pumping golden energy through his veins, making them glow. Try to imagine rickety cricket from it's always sunny if you put him back in the priest outfit in one of the later seasons. That's this guy.

Weapon:

Handheld sub-machine gun style weapon with a silencer similar to an UZI. Spread is somewhat spread out, making it usable at medium range but best suited for close engagements due to its punishing recoil

1. Aspergillum

Father Martini pulls out an Aspergillum filled with his blood (those water thrower thingies in church), with his left hand and throws out 3 orbs of flaming holy water which land in a triangle pattern. The orbs create a small puddle of flaming blood which ignites enemies who step on them for a short period of time. (one second) By holding the ability button down, the spread pattern of the orbs can be tightened. Ignited players can put themselves out by performing 2 dashes.

Puddle Radius: 0.5 Meters (increased by 0.2 meters each upgrade)

Duration: 6 seconds
Ignition time: 1 second

Upgrade 1: -15 Second Cooldown
Upgrade 2: +2 more fire orbs (now thrown in a star pattern) and increased dps by 50
Upgrade 3: Puddles now ignite enemies for three seconds and require three dashes to put out.

2. Leap

Father martini charges up his legs with occult power, empowering his next jump. Upon jumping, Martini will leap high into the air, (about twice as high as the bridges in the middle of each lane) and will hover for 2 seconds before hurtling towards the ground. Descent can begin early by pressing the ability button again. If he lands within the middle of his flaming puddles he deals a shockwave which stuns enemies. This move deals extra damage the closer together the puddles are, and the higher Martini falls from.

Cooldown: 20 Seconds
Hover Time: 2 Seconds

Upgrade 1: Leap height increased (can jump all the way from the bottom to the top of mid)
Upgrade 2: -5 Second cooldown
Upgrade 3: Landing creates a shockwave regardless of being in the middle of the puddles or not. If landing within the puddles, stun time is doubled.

3. Shield

Martini holds out his cursed arm in front of him, temporarily negating all damage from whichever direction he is facing. Cannot shoot his weapon when shielding, but can still melee.

Cooldown: 30 Seconds
Duration: 2 Seconds

Upgrade 1: Shield doubles movement speed when in use (will also increase damage of leap if used when descending)
Upgrade 2: -8 second cooldown
Upgrade 3: Shield absorbs any incoming damage and releases it in a shock-wave which pushes enemies back and damages them according to how much has been absorbed. Damage released is 1.5 times what was absorbed.

4. Unholy Blood:

Martini sends occult energy through all his blood in the vicinity, causing any puddles created by Aspergillum to explode, pushing enemies away like pinball bumpers. The explosion radius is twice the size of each puddle and ignites nearby enemies for 1.5x as long as if they stepped in it normally.

Cooldown: 90 seconds

Upgrade 1: Explosion Radius increased by 2x
Upgrade 2: -30 Second cooldown
Upgrade 3: Enemies in the middle of the explosion will be launched into the air, taking extra damage upon landing
