[Hero concept] Archaeologist with the Mummy curse (with a reference drawing)

(Just thought about an idea about a classical monster, since we already have the vampires, also this idea literally came to me in a dream)

Meet Bones, a cursed archaeologist!

"Name's Bones. Fitting right? If you ask me, it's either this curse has a sense of humor, or my parents had a gift of foresight."
STORY:
A skull for a face. Not quite human, yet not monstrous — something in between, staring from hollow sockets. His body is bound in endless, suffocating bandages. And beneath it all, in the hollow of his chest, a heart beats. But not his own.

Ollie Bones was an aspiring archaeologist, driven by a passion for ancient secrets. He joined his first expedition in search of a priceless relic — a canopic jar adorned with desert beasts. For the expedition it was just a historic relic. No one knew, that what it held inside was far more valuable and dangerous.

They were ambushed by mercenaries. They tore through his team, one by one. They were searching for the artifact too.

Cornered in a sarcophagus chamber of an old crypt, Bones tried to destroy the artifact. But then it spoke. He opened the jar, inside of it a black, still beating heart. It spoke to him, promised it could help...if he swallowed it.

Having no other choice, he obeyed. The tomb collapsed.

When he awoke, the stale air hit his face. And in his chest, a new life pulsed. But it wasn't his heart. It was as if... He could feel the heartbeat of a Desert itself.


Some of Bones' abilities and weapons:
note: i'm no gamedev, so i just thought of something stylish and maybe fun to play

Dunebreaker – A bronze-framed revolver engraved with hieroglyphs and wrapped in few bandages. Slow shooting, but with high damage, with an ammo of 11 bullets. Bullets leave faint trails of black sand in the air.

1. SCORCHING SANDS – Bones throws a projectile that creates a trap 7 seconds. The sands slow enemies down and slow their fire rate, applying silence for 1,5 seconds, and also deal minor spirit damage.
(cooldown: 12 seconds)
Upgrades:
1 point
– zone duration +3 seconds
2 points – sands apply a 1 second stun
5 points – slow duration +3 seconds, silence effect for +2 seconds

2. BANDAGING UP – Bones quickly wraps himself in fresh bandages, creating an area of damage around him and absorbing incoming damage. Damage dealt to nearby enemies and absorbed damage is converted into health. (cooldown: 25 seconds)
Upgrades:
1 point – healing multiplied by 30%
2 points – cooldown reduced by 13 seconds
5 points – if ability strikes enemies it stunnes them for 1,5 second

3. JACKALS Bones marks enemies with his shots, applying the "prey" effect. After dealing any damage to the enemies, a symbol of jackal appears, which he can send to chase the target. The jackal will always catch its prey, hitting them with spirit damage and inflicting bleeding for 5 seconds. The more damage is dealt, the stronger the jackal’s damage (scaling from 1 to 3 charges). Up to 3 jackals can exist at once. (cooldown for: 3 seconds)
Upgrades:
1 point
– +40 spirit damage
2 points – bleed duration +4 seconds and damage is multiplied by 20%
5 points – hounds spawn with 2 charges immediately

4.SUN-EATER – Bones sheds his mortal bindings, transforming into an avatar of the desert. He can move underground, choosing an area for his ultimate. Once chosen, a giant beast’s bone jaw erupts from the sands, dealing spirit damage on bite and applying silence to all enemies in the area. The ultimate also grants 1–3 hounds with initial charges (depending on the number of enemies hit). (cooldown: 90 seconds)
Upgrades:
1 point
– radius increased by 5 meters
2 points – lifesteal for 7 seconds after ultimate
5 points – enemies hit are struck again by a smaller jaw, heavily slowing them for 2,5 seconds

1 ability:
"Silence"
"Watch your feet"
"Got your shoes full of sand, huh?"
"Sand in their eyes"

2 ability:
"Ooh, keep 'em comin'!"
"How predictable"
"Gotta freshen up!"
"Bring it around town!"

3 ability:
"Hear that? They comin’"
"Run, makes it more fun for me"
"Don't look back"
"Find them"

4 ability:
"Feast awaits"
"At last!"
"Try escaping these jaws"
"My heart hungers"

Actually a really cool idea, and the abilities are fairly unique but not overly complicated. I feel like this would work well but the numbers on the Jackals ability feels absurd for what is basically a better Mirage mark that affects multiple people.

Thank you! I should've specified, that the jackal can chase only one person at the time and yeah I admit I'm not really great at balancing those abilities, so it's like a rough idea
