Hear me out, Aimbot item

I for one cant aim at all, and despite how much I love deadlock as a moba I admit my aim will never be good, like I hit somewhere around 10-20% of my shots. And that got me thinking, what about a item that is a semi-aimbot? A gun item that works a lot like "aimbot ults" in hero shooters (Think star lord in Marvel rivals), at the cost of a massive amount of damage? Something Trade off like always hitting but dealing 80% less damage? Perhaps but it on a passive CD so it only turns "on" for 10 seconds or so after a 10 second cool down? Odds are it will be hard to balance something like this or be impossible to, but as someone that will never be able to aim it would be fun to try out gun hero's once in a while lol

Items that are intended to be crutches are not good for games in general. Sure they help those who its intended for but then there will be people that figure out how to abuse it.

One thing that people dont understand is that improving in a game doesnt come naturally by simply playing it. If you want to improve your aim, there are several things to do to improve it and you are not doing this.

Will they make you pro, god teir aiming? No, but it would make you better so you dont think you need an item like this and still enjoy other characters.

Easiest thing to do is when playing a match, play a character that takes aim and only focus on that. Dont focus on kills, dont focus on objs, or winning. That doesnt matter, you are trying to improve one single skill. Other things, if you are so inclined, would be to do aim trainers, like aim labs, and pattern recognition rhythm games, like Osu.

Doing actual skill training for 10 mins a day builds muscle memory and will improve your aim in a way thats very meaningful.

This can be done with any skill too.

This might be true but we already have weaker versions of what I'm talking about like split shot that was just added, hell things like "Reactive Barrier" could be argued to be crutch items for players that keep getting caught out (as most of the time, the only time you REALLY need it is when you are way out of position) Sure, players could always get better at not pushing the lane when everyone is missing but its good to have items to help right? Same idea I feel.

hear me out, thats stupid.
I have heard you.

IF and let me be very clear here; and only IF such a feature were to become present in Deadlock, it would have to be put in as a setting and not an item. It would also probably be something along the lines as Aim assist, which would nudge your reticle toward a given enemy instead of just letting you fire wildly.

Having it as an item is the wrong design space for such a feature. I could see Valve maybe doing something like aim assist as an Accessibility feature, but it seems to me as highly unlikely mostly because MOBA's are, by their very nature, high skill ceiling games.

If it were added as an ability for a given hero, that might be a valid space as well as that could make a very noob friendly hero.

As an item, however, it wouldn't fit as the disparity in value between actually being able to aim between heroes is too big.
