Healing beam targeting

When using healing beam, the target selected appear to be the closest one in the targeting cone.
This represents a problem since healing beam's main utility is pulling people far away.
Unless it's intentional, I would suggest switching the targeting rule to "closest to the reticle", or a different algorithm that makes it easier to use.

In general, targeted abilities are somewhat annoying to use : the cone is fairly large, and i often find myself targeting something far from where I'm aiming, because the initial target went out of range. There is also the issue of people jumping in front, but this is probably not something that can/should be changed.

Would it be possible to offer an option to change the angle of the cone (this may even be a per ability option) ?
I understand that with deadlock's chaotic teamfights and the issue of TPS, we can't have targeted abilities that are as fail-proof as in a typical MOBA, however there is probably some room for improvement.

Remark : in the screenshot, infernus is in range. If i move slightly to the left, he's the one that get selected.
