Had everyone on the enemy team leave lol

Does Deadlock have abandon penalty yet? I haven't abandoned any of my games so I don't actually know lol.

I haven’t either so idk but you can report players that abandon specifically for leaving the match and if they get reported enough, they will be banned. I always report the first person to fully abandon a match, the others that leave are fine to do so even if it sucks

If you are going to leave the game, you get a warning, i guess if this is working as CS and Dota, you get a penalty time to join another game, once the first person leaves, the others are free to leave without any penalty. I guess the penalty stacks from 5 min, 15 min, 30min, 1h.. and so? until you get banned (i guess), everyone can leave from time to time for personal reasons. But let's say, if someone leaves in the first 10 minutes again and again and again.. yep that should be adressed, i had to leave 4 games today because someone left already.. totally kills the mood.

I understand having to leave a game for personal emergencies and stuff. But it's surprisingly common to see people die once or twice in the laning phase and immediately clock out. Maybe it's a misunderstanding of the kind of game deadlock is (maybe these are folks coming from more casual games like TF2) but it should be clear to people playing this game that they are expected to stay for the full duration of a match. They can't just drop in and out.

I think this is the result of people coming into the game without knowing what it's like since it might appear more accessible with the 3rd person shooter angle. It's easy to get angry but they wouldn't be as common with a higher number of players since they would be playing in lanes more their speed and not getting destroyed. A part of me wishes there was a mandatory number of bot matches you need to do before playing a real one but that would still set a bad precedent for people completely new to the genre with how lanes go. I don't imagine too many leavers are sticking around either but reporting people for it at least keeps out repeat offenders.

When you get the notification in the top-right "This match is now safe to abandon without penalty.", there is no reason to keep fighting, especially if it's early in the game. Playing a 5v6 game doesn't really make sense as a time commitment, so people just leave.
