Gamepad Controller-friendly heroes ideas
Aiming not required.
Gun is a machine gun or changed to deal damage in an AOE around itself, dealing damage in pulses.
Able to secure souls with an easy to aim AOE ability.
3+ Stamina.
Has a charged-based ability that lets the hero lock on to an enemy (at headshot level) for the duration while having vision of them. (During this time the hero can shoot or use abilities that will/should hit the target.
Macro-based abilities. Examples: Immediately Spawn Troopers (charges). Free Souls/income ability?
Strong but useful passive ability, something that makes that character durable but also deal damage. Probably a shield that can return damage.
Good mobility spell? Majestic leap but no damage hinderance.
Random Note:
Recently, while making my new custom game in Dota I found that it was useful for me to make 2 clones of a hero type/design/niche. Then 1v1 itself to see if its good against itself, then with other heroes. Then see how they combo together, if they work or aren't performing enough.
2 of the same heroes but they are slightly different, but core abilities are 'exactly' the same. The playtesters are playing as the new hero and against it to see if it 'fits' in the environment/gameplay.
Controller-based heroes in Dota is much simplier, as many abilities like Ursa Overpower are designed well to be reactive and fun to use, good cooldowns and mana cost, and most importantly require no aim. Then you just pump them with passives.
