I have run into a strange crash sequence on multiple occasions now:
While in an active game, the screen will freeze and then display a bunch of bright colors/patterns that look like a display failure. Then, screen will go black completely and I will stop hearing the game. I can't do anything unless I open task manager, then windows displays desktop just fine. I have to end task on deadlock.
When I reload game, the same issue happens again. Display error, black screen, end task.
I restart computer and rejoin game, then the game disconnects from the server as if I have an internet disconnection (no disconnection issue outside of steam). On steam, deadlock lists "steam cloud out of date" next to the game. Steam itself then doesn't seem to be able to connect even though internet connection is just fine.
I cycle restarting PC and open steam and deadlock, rejoin the game. The game disconnects again and the same server connection issue shows up. I was really trying to get back into the game because it was a ranked match.
In the 3rd restart cycle, opening steam itself then caused a display issue, but that passed after a bit. Oddly, my monitor brightness was maximized after the incident (normally set to ~20%).
This is the second time this very specific and strange series of events has happened. The MATCHID from today is 23955382. I'll note I did receive a disconnect punishment (temporary queue ban) and did not receive credit for the ranked match.
Any support would be appreciated. It's very strange that it affects steam itself and even changed my monitor settings.
