Game Crashes within 30 seconds on Debian 12

As stated in the title, the game crashes within 30 or so seconds after launch, no matter what I do. Including doing nothing at all. Console output warnings about SteamNetworkingSockets lock being held for 3 to 28 ms. Consistent for both native and proton environments. Speculation: I just need to get a better CPU

Running steam through a terminal yields a consistent "Unexpected error." or "ct8.exe: ../src-wine/dlls/ntdll/unix/virtual.c:1907: create_view: Assertion `!((UINT_PTR)base & page_mask)' failed." as last line of output before process termination.
