game crashed so hard i had to reinstall

I was paradox, meleed a mginnis and crashed "something/something/something.vpk is corrupt, verify integrity of game files" but i couldnt verify it just stayed at 0, tried reinstalling and it also wouldnt download, restarting pc fixed that, may be unrelated

Same problem i was having i always close and open steam a couple times after about 5minutes it will start working. after i crash there will be a update stuck at %0 and verify files will be stuck %0. this only lasts about 5mins tho. after latest patch it fixed all these problems for me. it was happening 3 times a day, but just happened once now im temp banned for 2x hours and Low Priority matchmaking gotta win 4 matches even though i made it back into the match and we won.... ughhh

I had a similar issue, error was similar. Something about an image file being corrupt. I tried to verify, nothing, tried to restart Steam, nothing, restarted PC and got it to verify, got back in and the game was over. I now have a 6 hour ban.
