I've been running into an issue where my game crashes with an error, telling me I need to verify my game files. When I do this (or attempt to rejoin the game), it gets stuck at 0% verifying for up to an hour or two, meaning that I'm unable to rejoin the game in progress, and hence am hit with an abandon.
I understand the game is in active development, but it seems that multiple people are running into this issue. If I was able to rejoin, it wouldn't be so bad (since I'd just reconnect), but for whatever reason I'm not able to until long enough has passed that I can't rejoin. This has progressed enough that I've been hit with some low priority, which is a bit rough.
This started suddenly, at the 6 hero vote update, and has been happening fairly consistently (either when the game boots up, or when I transition into loading the game). If I get into a game successfully, it never crashes during the game.
I've searched the forums and read through similar threads to try debugging, but nothing that I've tried has fixed this. This includes:
- Testing my RAM (it seems to be functioning correctly, as per memtest86, so seems to not be that).
- Adjusting bios settings, such as 'secure boot' and 'xmp', with no impacts, seemingly
- Attempting to verify game files before each game, or loading into test bot games beforehand
If anybody else has any advice on possible alternate fixes that I could try, or the devs have any advice, that'd be great. Thanks!
