Game and Steam keep crashing upon reconnecting after update

In the middle of a game, randomly the entirety of my steam crashed. Trying to reconnect freezes the game then continues to crash steam. This is the first time I've ever encountered a bug like this.

small update: after the small update it doesn't crash steam (so far) but still crashes deadlock with no way to reconnect, this time with two error messages:

The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000142). Click OK to close the application

The exception unknown software exception (0xe0000008) occurred in the application at location 0x00007FFBBE76B699.

I have had similar issues but my crashes cause my computer to full restart. This is the only game I have this issue with... I can't even make it past the match loading lobby.

after the update today, now the game just crashes from just clicking on the queue button. WTF happened in this game's development???

nevermind, it doesnt crash from queuing, it crashes after about 30ish seconds after opening the game. still, huh??
