Game activated but not showing up in my library and im not sure what to do to be able to play this game

Make sure you check that it activated to the correct account. There should be a parenthesis () before the link with the name of the account that will get the game.

If it's not the correct account then whoever referred you picked the wrong user

its correct but still doesnt work

Does your friend have someone else with the same name on their list? This may be a rare occurrence of the link failing to grant the package to your account but I feel there might've been a human error in the referral process.

Yoshi doesn't really help users with issues like this one but I would still advise you to DM him with your situation.

I'm running into the same issue today as well. Accepted invite, name matched my steam name, my friend has only one person with a name remotely like mine in their friends list.

Received e-mail, clicked link [was added to library message in the loaded webpage], not seeing anything like Deadlock in my Steam games.
