This seems to be a bug that has existed for a while, so I assume it's not really high priority (if it's fixable/ever been there on the list in the first place). But I feel like with the new item shop, it's a great time to fix this because being able to edit the build description with ease would be very nice.
The glaring issues I've personally faced are pretty much, firstly, that long lines of text make it so that eventually you can't even scroll back to the start (what I think is happening is that the text box shifts to the right for some reason, and so you can never access like the first couple of characters, nor see them). Secondly, inserting and backspacing in the middle of the text puts you at the very end (which I think is just an issue with saving the cursor's position).
While it's not game ruining, it would make life ever-so-much easier if these could be fixed. Or, maybe it's intended so people keep it short and brief. I like that interpretation as well.
