Fighters and Magicians

I want to have a melee hero and a mage hero, using a sword to attack in close range, and a mage hero uses energy to attack.
 
We do have more melee focused characters like Abrams, however I feel the melee combat systems would need to be more robust to really focus on more melee heavy characters. In terms of Mages, we do have characters like Lady Giest who plays like a mage, she has a gun but she is a magic user primarily, and Infernus doesn't even have a gun, he is a spell caster. I personally would like to see the melee system overhauled, Like holding Q or shift or something makes your Left click your melee attack and your Right click your Charged melee, and give characters unique melee attacks, like yamatos would be a quick sword strike dealing heavier damage than her gun/throwing stars and her charged melee being a sword dash that gives her some better mobility than a normal charged melee.
 
My hero design Lover is a battle mage that has a skill rewarding alternating gun attacks and melee attacks, and she has an interesting spellbook ability that's like a slot machine for spells.
