Falcon Puncher

Blackshot

The following hero idea is incomplete, lacking visual design, lore, a concrete gun idea and actual numbers such as base stats as well as definitive ability stats and upgrade perks. This draft should suffice in giving you an idea of what the hero does and how he fits into Deadlock.

Falcon Puncher:

(an Ivy sized humanoid creature with big fists. Maybe an egg head.)

"Punches enemies into position"

"Falcon Puncher uses heights, lockdowns and magnetism to approach enemies whereafter he tosses them into the direction he desires, even if it's the ground. 'The bigger they are, the harder they fall', he always says, not realizing the risks of his own boldness."

This hero resembles Lash and Holiday in the fact that FP will frequently be seen jumping in the air. Difference is that FP needs to be very good at maneuvering in the air because he wants to approach enemies up close, even those who are mid-air or in high places utilizing his movement ability Springer to then give them a beat down or toss them somewhere (ideally to his teammates). The analogy to Falcon Punch from the Smash Bros series was an afterthought, as well as the association to Lash and Holiday. I originally thought of the Launch Time ability and worked out the rest from there.

3 Stamina
Gun = Something that isn't a slow firing gun like Holiday or burst fire like Lash
1 - Launch Time: FP holsters his weapon to use his fists. Can move enemies into the direction he's facing, straight into the air with an uppercut or straight into the ground with a slam. Also increases melee damage. Can be charged in order to toss an enemy much further and apply the knockdown effect (from the item) onto the enemy. Charged attack cannot be parried. Mode lasts several seconds (min. 5s). Using the charged attack ends the mode. Medium duration cooldown.
2 - Lockshot: Shoot projectile to slow enemy drastically (like Pardox). Lasts a few seconds (longer than Paradox by default). Long cooldown.
3 - Springer: Activate while on ground: Jump high with forward momentum (similar to Holiday jump pad). Shortly after reaching the apex of the jump, fall back on the ground fast (unless Launch Time is activated). Landing deals AoE damage (similar to Holiday). Has charges. Long Cooldown
4 - Magnet Body: Pull enemies in a large radius towards you for several seconds. Gain bullet resistance.

I don't know if this hero's stats should be tanky or fast.
Do believe that Launch Time should also increase movement speed so that he doesn't rely on Springer too much to close the gap. And maybe FP should get a big tool or weapon such as a hammer instead of using his fists during the mode.
Lockshot is a problem because it's a long crowd control ability for that cooldown duration and it's without a windup time like Paradox or certain ultimates. But it also should to be a quick root ability so that you can take advantage of your enemy's position (in case they're mid air or on a rooftop). The lore reason for Springer pulling you back down after the apex of the height is FP's usage of magnetism. And stuff. I'm not the lore guy. However, here's a scrapped addition to the ability: "Activate while mid-air: Your next land will bounce you off the floor with 150% of the height of the fall".
And here's an alternative concept for the ultimate called Growing Pains: Medium sized AoE damage targetable at the floor lasting several seconds. Exponentially increasing damage per time spent in it at a time. The idea would be to have this ult activated either before or after you're about to toss an enemy into it or root them there with the Lockshot.

Lore and personality ideas:
Falcon Puncher is a small and short creature for his species (and compared to everyone else) and that makes him a somewhat bitter and insecure. He is a mechanic of sorts, inventing his own weapons and tools. He wears coil springs around his legs for his Springer ability. Possibly a German character ("Springer" is a German word roughly translating into "jumper"). His dream was to become a pilot (potentially wears an aviator hat).

Here's an image of how the coil springs around his legs could look like (this is Bellamy from One Piece whose legs actually turn into coil springs but in this image it doesn't look like it which is why I'm using it).
