Duo no longer laning with me ever?

My duo and I almost exclusively play this game together. Before the most recent patch where the lane setups were changed it was for sure that we would either both get placed in a solo lane(very VERY rarely) or we would lane together(95% of the time). Today we tried to play together and we were either both placed in separate duo lanes or one of us was placed in a solo lane. Is there a reason that this change would have occurred for us because my duo's only real reason for playing is that they get to play WITH me and I feel pretty similarly. If we queue together but rarely if at all get to lane together it feels like it slightly defeats the purpose of queueing up together at all. In a game where we have no real control of the lane assignments I don't really know what we could do to affect this(ex. hero choice?).

Any clarity would be greatly appreciated and apologies if this is not the proper place for this post or if it's an intended aspect of play.

tbh. the game will need an upadate... so duos are always against other duos on a lane... u cant be matched with a rondom on a duo lane...

This is still happening and very frustrating. I also noticed the following scenario: When I am on a duo lane with a random player and my duo swaps with this player, the random player gets a lot of souls while my duo and I are falling behind on souls by at least 30% within minutes. This makes the lane close to unplayable, almost every time.

This wasn't as much of an issue as of a couple of weeks ago, at least for me, but now I get paired with my duo maybe one in six games. It's pretty brutal. A lot of people are willing to swap lanes, but when other duos are also separated, it becomes a mess of trying to organize lanes and entering them late--assuming your teammates don't just ignore you when you ask to swap.

Yeah, I feel this pain. This started when they gave priority to support-type heroes on duel lanes. That, plus how the game tries to balance lane MMR, seems to cause it.

Yeah I feel as though these 'support' heroes should simply have solid enough starts so they can hold their own on a solo lane if needs be. Take away the need for them to be forced onto duos and let duos be duos. I actually suggested this in feedback. That's why Ivy got a bit of her scaling shifted into base damage last patch. Though I suggested 4.5 -> 6 and -0.10 scaling.

Following up here as a I was about to post about it myself. Felt like a couple patches ago, me and the friend I'd queue in with were always in the same lane. Now it feels like I'm always asking someone to switch, which, depending on how responsive they are, can really change the first few minutes of the game.
