Double Jump-reset with Transit Lines

I would imagine that this is a bug rather than an intended feature, but it is possible to 'infinitely' double jump back to back with transit lines. If you have at least one stamina, you can jump off of a transit line you were riding, and then press (and hold) space to expend a stamina charge and perform a double jump while still looking at the transit line to then reattach to the transit line. This refunds the stamina charge spent for the double jump, and I'm assuming this is a bug because it is both unintuitive and can be used to dodge in really weird and unpredictable ways with transit lines (even if you can't shoot during it). There is only a small period of time where this interaction refunds a stamina point, so it seems like the double jump is the only movement tech able to perform this because it uses the same button as mounting the transit lines to begin with, which further leads me to believe this is unintended.
 
I've seen the discussion of transit line reattaching taking a stamina point being an old bug, but it just seems odd that a stamina point would 'not be consumed' when a double jump is performed. I assume the refund is a way to get around a player mistakenly double jumping (and accidentally wasting a stamina point) when they mean to just hold space and attach to the transit line when in air already, but it being able to rapidly move a player's hitbox in weird ways when spammed on a transit line does not seem like the intended use of the mechanic.
