Two shop items that increase ability range, Healing Nova and Improved Reach, affect ability cast ranges (such as that of Paradoxical Swap) and ability radii (such as that of Lightning Ball) in different ways. They seem to have different internal values for the two (TechRangeMultiplier and TechRadiusMultiplier respectively). For all other items which increase ability range, these two values are both present, but are equal. This leads to some inconsistency in in-game tooltips:
In the above screenshot, the in-game tooltip for Healing Nova promises an 8% ability range increase, but the stun radius of Static Charge and the jump radius of Power Surge are both increased by 6% (5m → 5.3m and 10m → 10.6m respectively). However, the cast range for other abilities is increased by 8% as listed in the tooltip:
The cast range of Quantum Entanglement is increased from 9m → 9.7m (+7.8%) by the same item. A 6% increase would give the ability a cast range of 9.54m, which would not be rounded to 9.7m. This implies a TechRadiusMultiplier of 6%, and a TechRangeMultiplier of 8%.
There are also some inconsistencies in the nomenclature surrounding the two. For example, the radius of Kudzu Bomb and the stun radius of Stone Form are both described as a "radius" in the in-game tooltips, but the former is increased by 6%, and the latter by 8%, by the same item:
Note that despite both starting at 6m, there is a difference in their final radii (6.4m and 6.5m respectively; it can be assumed that these are 6.36m and 6.48m rounded to the nearest tenth). Other items which affect ability range such as Mystic Reach do not have this disparity, and increase both values by the same amount:
Both radii are increased by 0.9m, exactly 15%, as the tooltip states.
Improved Reach also has different TechRangeMultiplier and TechRadiusMultiplier values for non-imbued abilities, increasing the radius of Kudzu Bomb by 1.5m (+25%) and the stun range of Stone Form by 1.6m (+26.7%):
(None of these values are affected by Spirit scaling, and I had no other items or upgrades purchased in these screenshots. It's purely a quirk of these two items.)
There are numerous other examples of values which are described as a "radius" in the tooltip, but are affected by TechRangeMultiplier, or vice versa. (Funnily enough, Healing Nova increases its own base radius from 15m to 16.2m, which is an increase of 8% - meaning it actually uses the range modifier.) If this distinction is intentional, I can make a separate report detailing them, but for now I'll leave it at this.
